Destroyed gazebos and mutilated bodies under the rubble are the result of another Russian attack on civilians. On the morning of May 19, Russian troops struck twice at a recreation area in the suburbs of Kharkiv with Iskander-M missiles. The recreation center in the village of Cherkaska Lozova, where about fifty people were staying, was hit.

Ten minutes after the medics and rescuers arrived at the scene of the attack, the occupiers struck again. "The Russians struck twice at the facility - they are again using the tactic of "double strikes" aimed at killing civilians, medics and rescuers," said Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

Serhiy Bolvinov, head of the Kharkiv Police Investigation Department, emphasized that the occupiers had hit an ordinary beach with gazebos for recreation - there were no military targets there. He emphasized that the victims of the Russians were women and children who had simply gone out into nature and came under enemy fire.

In addition, explosions were heard throughout the day in Kharkiv itself. The Russians shelled the central part of the city with multiple rocket launchers. Also on Sunday afternoon, Russians attacked the Kupyansk district of the region. As a result: 5 dead and 9 injured, all civilians.

On Sunday evening, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the families and friends of those killed in Kharkiv region. "The world can stop Russian terror - and for this, the lack of political will of leaders must be overcome. Two Petriots for Kharkiv will fundamentally change the situation. Air defense systems for our other cities and sufficient support for our soldiers on the front line will ensure the defeat of Russian terror," the President noted.

As a reminder, on May 10, Russian troops broke through the border in the north of Kharkiv region. The enemy captured several villages in the "gray zone". The battle for the city of Vovchansk is currently underway.
