Marina Brodovska

Ukrainian artist and photographer whose work explores themes of identity and memory. Born in Mykolaiv, she now lives in Kyiv. She uses visual storytelling to reflect on personal experience within the broader context of social and cultural transformations.

She began working with photography in 2008 after graduating from Viktor Marushchenko’s School of Photography. She studied at the Bird in Flight photo school and took Roman Pyatkovka’s photography course. In 2019 she received a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies and Art Management from Dragomanov Kyiv University.

Marina has published two photobooks. The photobook “My Dear Vira,” self‑published in 2020, was shortlisted for the Aperture Photobook Awards, Kassel Dummy Awards, and IPA. Her photographic projects have been featured in publications such as Photo Evidence, Gente di Fotografia, Open Eye, Camera Austria, Bird in Flight Magazine, Untitled, 5,6, and others.

Brodska has been participating in Ukrainian and international exhibitions since 2008, and her works are held in public and private collections.
