The Open Call for submissions is ongoing as part of preparations for the 10th edition of the biennale festival, which will take place from mid‑October to the end of November 2026 in Singapore. It is one of the leading photographic platforms in Southeast Asia, supporting contemporary visual culture, new authorial practices, and critical dialogue about photography.

The Open Call is a key independent program of the festival and is open to the international community of authors. Submissions are accepted in two categories: Portfolio (series of photographs and visual projects) and Photobook (published or mock‑up photobooks, fully completed in physical form). Unfinished or unrealized projects are not accepted for consideration.

The selected works will be presented within the Open Call Showcase during SIPF 2026, curated by the festival team and invited curators. Participants also gain international visibility through the festival program, media coverage, and the professional environment of galleries and curators.

Within the Open Call, the SIPF Open Call Award is also presented with a total prize fund. Three main awards of SGD$2,000 each are provided: Best Portfolio Award, Best Published Photobook Award, and Best Dummy Photobook Award. The winners are selected by the festival jury, and the awards are presented during the official ceremony in October 2026.

Separately, within the festival there will be a special survey of photography from Singapore, reflecting the development of the local scene from 2000 to 2025. It will include both invited authors and participants of the Open Call.

Shortlisted authors gain the opportunity to participate in the festival’s accompanying events, including Artist Talks and tours, as well as access to portfolio reviews and workshops on preferential terms. In addition, they receive entry into SIPF’s international professional network, which includes curators, media, and institutions in the field of photography.
