The Russian army continues to destroy the energy system of Ukraine's border and frontline territories. “In recent weeks, the enemy has changed its shelling tactics and focused on massive attacks not on the Ukrainian power system in general, but on its elements in specific regions,” reported Vitalii Zaichenko, Chairman of the Board of NPC “Ukrenergo”. On October 10, 2025, Russians launched a massive strike on Ukraine's energy sector, just as they did exactly three years ago, on October 10, 2022. Russia also seeks to complicate communication with frontline regions by striking railway infrastructure. Furthermore, the Russians' targets this week included a maternity hospital, a grain warehouse, port facilities, energy workers, rescuers, and children.

Chronicle of Attacks from October 6 to 12
From the beginning of the week, Kharkiv and the region were under UAV attack for two consecutive nights. Damaged: energy facilities, residential buildings, a civilian enterprise, warehouses, garages, and cars. There are wounded. Temporary power outages were recorded in the Nemyshlianskyi and Industrialnyi districts of the city.
Kherson is under daily enemy shelling. This week, a Russian FPV drone killed a man at a bus stop and attacked a vehicle carrying utility workers. As a result, one worker died, and three were severely wounded. In total, approximately 10 people died in Kherson region this week. Russians struck critical and social infrastructure, damaging a cell tower and a gas pipeline.
The Russian Federation continues its drone terror in Chernihiv region. Destruction and fires are widespread. Nizhyn was repeatedly attacked, with the enemy striking the energy system and railway connections again. The attack damaged railway tracks connecting Nizhyn and Kyiv. In Pryluky district, an energy facility and an oil depot came under shelling. In the border area of Chernihiv region, hits were recorded on a grain elevator and a State Emergency Service fire department unit. On the night before the weekend, two energy workers were killed, and three were hospitalized due to a drone attack on a regional power company's service vehicle.
On October 6, the Russian army struck a maternity hospital building in Sumy with a drone. 166 people, including 11 children, were in the shelter. The roof caught fire due to the hit.
On the night of October 7, Poltava region was under attack by Russian UAVs. Administrative buildings, a residential building, warehouse premises, and railway rolling stock were damaged. Fires broke out. In Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, Russians deliberately struck the territory of a State Emergency Service unit with artillery, wounding a rescuer and damaging the fire depot building.
On the night of October 8, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions came under attack by the enemy army. Two people died and three were wounded in Sumy region, including a 4-year-old girl with severe burns. In the afternoon, a Russian drone hit a high-rise building in the city of Sumy. There were no casualties or injuries. By midnight, Sumy region was again under attack from strike drones and guided aerial bombs.
On the night of October 9, the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia district. There are wounded and material damages, including a damaged gas pipe and power lines. Large-scale fires broke out due to Russian drone shelling in Odesa region. Residential buildings, an administrative building, a gas station, containers with civilian cargo, including vegetable oil and wood fuel pellets, burned. The attack resulted in a blackout in the city of Chornomorsk. Five people were wounded. In the morning, the enemy struck a civilian car in Sumy region, wounding two people. In the morning, two aerial bombs hit Sloviansk, resulting in casualties.
Massive Attack on Ukraine: Capital Without Light and Water, Child Killed in Zaporizhzhia, Dams Blocked
On the night of October 10, the Russian Federation launched a massive strike on the territory of Ukraine, using 465 UAVs of various types and 32 missiles. The Air Force managed to shoot down/suppress 420 targets. Damage from direct hits and falling debris was recorded at 16 locations. Energy facilities in Kyiv and Kyiv region, in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and other regions came under attack. Emergency power outages were introduced in nine regions and the capital. 20 people were wounded, one child was killed, and another child was wounded. Due to the security situation, movement across HPP dams in Zaporizhzhia and Cherkasy region was temporarily blocked. Zaporizhzhia was attacked by strike drones, aerial bombs, and missiles. A seven-year-old boy died. A State Emergency Service rescuer was wounded during a repeat strike.


Kyiv was attacked by Russians in several waves using drones and missiles. The enemy shelling resulted in damage to residential areas and critical infrastructure facilities.
The greatest damage and destruction from falling debris were found in the Pecherskyi, Podilskyi, and Desnianskyi districts. A fire broke out on the 6th–7th floors of a high-rise building in the Pecherskyi district. Rescuers managed to evacuate 20 people. In total, 12 people were injured in the capital.
Kyiv experienced massive power outages and a partial cessation of water supply, and public transport was partially suspended. Trains on the green and red metro lines ran with changes. Invincibility Points were deployed throughout the city.

«Another difficult night for Kyiv and the entire country. Several cities were under attack by Russian drones and missiles. Civilian and energy infrastructure were damaged, and residential buildings were affected. Kyiv plunged into blackouts».

Work to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and restore power and water supply continued the next day.
President Zelenskyy called on world leaders to take decisive action toward global security:«A cynical and calculated attack: over 450 drones and more than three dozen missiles against everything that ensures the normalcy of life, and which Russians want to deprive us of».


On October 11, in the afternoon, Russians launched an airstrike on the territory of the Iov Pochaivskyi Temple in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. Two people died, and five were wounded. The facade of the temple and adjacent private houses were damaged. Destruction with wounded and killed people was recorded almost daily in Donetsk region. Power outages were recorded over the weekend due to shelling.
On October 11 and 12, Kharkiv region, Odesa, and the oblast were under enemy shelling. Educational institutions and private residences were damaged in Kharkiv region, and in Odesa region—energy infrastructure, a hotel and restaurant complex building, a recreation center, an administrative building, and the private sector; two people were wounded.
