On 3 October near Druzhkivka in Donetsk Oblast, a Russian FPV drone deliberately attacked journalists. As a result of the strike, French photojournalist Anthony Lallikan was killed. Kharkiv photographer and member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP), Heorhii Ivanchenko, sustained severe injuries.

On October 4, it became known that due to massive blood loss, doctors were forced to amputate Heorhii's leg. Ahead are a series of complex operations, prolonged rehabilitation, and prosthetics.

Heorhii Ivanchenko — a Kharkiv photojournalist who has worked as a freelance reporter in documentary and press photography since February 2022. He collaborated with Associated Press and European Pressphoto Agency. His photo reports covered Borodianka, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, and currently Donetsk regions. A turning point in his work was nearly a month in Bakhmut, where he documented the lives of city residents in basements alongside volunteers, medics, military personnel, and rescuers.
In April 2023, while working on a story in Chasiv Yar, his car was destroyed by a Russian shell.

Antony Lallican — a French photojournalist who covered social and public issues in conflict zones around the world. In March 2022, he came to Ukraine to document the consequences of Russian aggression and has since worked on a long-term project alongside residents of Donbas.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, Antony Lallican became the 112th media worker killed as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Heorhii Ivanchenko requires assistance for treatment, postoperative care, and rehabilitation. The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers calls for support for their colleague during this difficult time.
