On March 20, at noon, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with an X-59 missile, which hit a multi-storey civil industrial enterprise. Five dead and seven injured are now known. This was announced by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov.
The Russians targeted a printing house and a furniture and paint shop in the midst of the working day. Among the victims are employees of the company.
“Who exactly was in the building at the time of the attack, investigators and forensics are finding out. We have seized the logs of the employees and find out how many people could have been inside the building during the explosion,” said the head of the Investigative Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region Serhiy Bolvinov.
The SNS says that there may still be people under the rubble. The search and rescue operation continues.
Kharkiv photographer Yakov Lyashenko entered the damaged industrial center, engulfed in smoke and fire, to document the Russians' next war crime and the work of rescuers.
There Jacob met the owner of a printing house, who showed what his company was doing. “There they printed books, puzzles, children's games, packaging for medicines. The typography is badly destroyed,” says the photographer.
“There was a dining room in the printing house. I was struck by the fact that there were food containers and forks on the table. Someone came to lunch and it must have saved him, because the printing house itself was very damaged, but the dining room was not,” says Jacob.
The photographer saw that as a result of the Russian attack, the shop where wedding dresses were sewn was also partially damaged.
A mobile headquarters have been organized at the site of the attack, and an investigator-operational team, forensics, explosives technicians and medics are also working. In addition, a five-story building and a car, premises of a private enterprise were damaged by a Russian missile strike in Kharkiv.
