Submissions for the Aperture Portfolio Prize 2026 are open until January 10, 2026, at 06:59. The competition marks its twentieth anniversary and continues to spotlight new directions in photography, recognizing authors whose work deserves wider attention.
Anyone who creates photographs can participate — regardless of status or experience. What matters is not the author, but the portfolio itself. The contest accepts portfolios of 10–15 images, along with supporting materials: a short project description, a résumé, and a biography.
The first‑prize winner and four shortlisted photographers will receive cash awards, editorial features, and the opportunity to take part in a group exhibition in New York.
To enter, participants must be subscribers to the print edition of *Aperture* magazine. The subscription must remain active through spring 2026 (issue 262). Details about subscribing are available at aperture.org/magprize.
The competition is organized by Aperture, an independent nonprofit publisher that shapes global conversations about photography and supports the development of visual culture.
