About the Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant
The Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant supports young photographers and emerging photographers who are just starting their careers in photojournalism. We offer financial support, mentoring, and ongoing assistance to promote their work. Importantly, the grant recipient becomes part of a network of previous recipients and a large family of people who care deeply about this grant and believe in the importance of photojournalism. The grant was established more than three decades ago in honor of photojournalist Jan Parry, who was killed while on assignment for The Sunday Times during the Romanian Revolution of 1989 at the age of 24. Each year, we hold a free, open competition for the Ian Parry Grant, which aims to discover new talent in photojournalism from around the world.
