On thenight of Oct. 3, 2024, the Russian army attacked Kharkiv with five aerialbombs. Preliminary reports indicate they were UMPB D-30SN glide bombs. Bymorning, the number of people injured in the Russian strike on Kharkiv hadrisen to 12, including a child, Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov reported.
“Twelvepeople were injured: five were hospitalized, their condition is moderate tomild. Among the injured is a 3-year-old girl—she is receiving outpatienttreatment,” he wrote.


Overnight,while rescuers and volunteers worked tirelessly to help residents of thedamaged buildings, hundreds of families evacuated in panic. The five-storybuilding and nearby structures were left without electricity. Mayor IhorTerekhov reported that aid points were being set up where people could warm upwith hot tea.
The mayoralso added that the latest strike on the suburbs damaged high-voltage powerlines, which may cause electricity outages in some parts of Kharkiv.

Accordingto the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office, on Oct. 2 at around 11:00 p.m.,from the settlement of Stroitel in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, the enemy used twoSu-34 aircraft to launch five guided aerial bombs at Kharkiv and its suburbs.Preliminary reports indicate they were UMPB D-30SN bombs. Air-defense controlsystems recorded their speed at 600 km/h.
They notedthat two aerial bombs hit the suburbs—on the territory of the Derhachi hromada.Another three struck Kharkiv.

“In theShevchenkivskyi district, two aerial bombs struck open ground. In theSaltivskyi district, an aviation munition hit a five-story residentialbuilding,” the prosecutor’s office summarized.


In hisaddress, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraineneeds strong international support to stop these brutal strikes. Kharkiv hasonce again witnessed blatant aggression, yet it remains steadfast in itspursuit of peace and justice.
