Since the beginning of the week, Russian drone attacks have covered frontline and border regions. In Okhtyrka in Sumy region, Russians hit a high-rise building; in Shostka, they attacked a sports school where children were training at the time. During the week, the enemy struck Fastiv in Kyiv region again. A massive missile-and-drone attack hit Kremenchuk in Poltava region. Overall, Russians carried out the most attacks on critical infrastructure in southern Ukraine. On the night of Monday, December 8, Russians attacked Sumy and Chernihiv regions. In Okhtyrka in Sumy region, Russian drones hit a nine-storey building; apartments caught fire from the second to the fifth floor, and the building sustained significant damage. In total, seven civilians were injured in Okhtyrka; two were hospitalized. During the day, energy facilities in the Sumy community came under a massive drone attack. In Chernihiv, due to the fall of an enemy drone, a high-rise building in the city center was damaged — three people were injured, one hospitalized. In Dnipropetrovsk region, one person was killed and five were injured, including two children. An enterprise, an arts school, a gas pipeline, an administrative building, high-rise buildings, and private houses were damaged. Russians struck Fastiv in Kyiv region again. Fires broke out over a total area of 1,500 sq. m. A private house and an administrative building were damaged. As a result of Russian attacks with guided aerial bombs on an industrial zone in Zaporizhzhia and in Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region, ten people were hospitalized, four of them in serious condition; 15 homes were damaged. In Kherson, two people were killed, including a CHP employee. As a result of shelling of Kramatorsk, four people were injured, including two children; six apartment buildings were damaged. In Ternopil, the number of deaths from the Russian attack on November 19 increased to 38 people; two more victims were found at the strike site — a mother and a child.

December 9 — in Chernihiv region, due to Russian shelling, stacks of straw burned on a farm over an area of 1,800 sq. m. Critical infrastructure, a forestry enterprise, an administrative building, warehouse facilities, and a gas station were also hit. That day, two people were killed in Sumy region.

December 10 — at night in Chernihiv region, as a result of a drone attack, a civilian building burned; energy equipment was damaged in different communities. In Dnipropetrovsk region, one person was killed and four were injured. Over the day, Russians damaged several enterprises, power lines, a shop, a trade pavilion, two gas stations, private yards, and cars. That day, Russians shelled Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and Sviatohirsk. In Kherson, a morning Russian shelling damaged a supermarket and high-rise buildings; one woman was hospitalized.

December 11 — at night Russia delivered a massive strike on critical infrastructure in Poltava region, using strike drones and Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The city of Kremenchuk was affected. Frontline territories and Chernihiv region were also attacked. Fires raged everywhere; both infrastructure facilities and residential houses were burning. In Kharkiv region, fires broke out on the grounds of an agricultural enterprise; one person was killed in the region. In Chernihiv region, a forestry enterprise was attacked that day; a security guard was hospitalized in moderate condition. In Sumy region, Russians struck a shop with an aerial bomb; two women were killed under the rubble of the shop, and one woman was injured.

Due to Russian attacks, on December 12 in Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk region one person was killed and four were injured; five private houses burned. Strike drones attacked Kharkiv region; there were injured, and a gas station premises and cars burned. During the day in the region, six people were injured; one is in serious condition. In Shostka in Sumy region, Russian strike UAVs attacked a sports school where children were training; they were evacuated together with coaches to a safe place in time. In Donetsk region, Russian FPV drones attacked civilian transport — six people were injured; due to an airstrike, two people were killed and one injured. In the evening of that day, an energy system facility in Chernihiv region came under fire.

December 13 — the Russian army delivered a massive strike on critical and civilian infrastructure in southern Ukraine, using more than 465 UAVs of various types and 30 missiles. Large-scale fires broke out. Power outages occurred in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Chernihiv regions. Five people were injured in Mykolaiv; three were hospitalized in moderate condition. In Dnipropetrovsk region, two injured people were hospitalized. During the day on December 13, the enemy again struck Chernihiv region, Kharkiv, and Sumy with drones, and attacked a minibus in Kherson.

On the morning of December 14, the enemy army struck Zaporizhzhia, affecting several districts of the city. Seven people were injured, including a child and a State Emergency Service employee; one person is in serious condition. In one neighborhood of Zaporizhzhia, an ATB store was destroyed. Residential buildings and cars were also damaged in the city. In the morning, Russians again struck critical infrastructure in Kherson. The centralized water supply system was damaged. Restoration work continues at water and power supply facilities. In Chernihiv region, due to Russian drone attacks, two people were injured; hits on a gas station were recorded; a church, a starosta office building, residential buildings, and cars were damaged.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the situation on the morning of Sunday, December 14:

“Since yesterday, all our services have been working to restore the supply of electricity, heat, and water to the regions after Russian strikes on the energy sector. The situation is still difficult — hundreds of thousands of families remain without electricity in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Thank you to each and every person involved in the repair work. There were again strikes on our communities last night. There are injured. Russia is dragging out the war and wants to harm our people as much as possible. Overall, this week Russians launched more than 1,500 strike drones, almost 900 guided aerial bombs, and 46 missiles of various types at Ukraine. Just one week.”

A week of terror in Odesa region

This week, the enemy massively shelled mainly critical and port infrastructure of Odesa region with drones and missiles. The attacks took place mostly at night. On the night of December 10, the enemy hit an infrastructure facility; warehouse premises caught fire. There were no casualties. On December 11, Russians directed strike UAVs at civilian, energy, and transport infrastructure of the region. As a result, an energy facility, an administrative building, and private houses nearby were damaged.

December 12 — the energy system in Odesa came under attack; fires broke out. In Odesa region overall, about 90,000 subscribers were left without power. There were also disruptions to water supply.

On the night of December 13, Odesa region suffered one of the most massive attacks. The enemy targeted electricity transmission and distribution facilities and civilian infrastructure. Odesa was hit hardest: four injured are known; energy facilities and warehouse premises with textile products burned; damage to buildings was recorded, including in the historic city center. As a result of the attack, water and heat supply are absent in most of Odesa; traction substations and electric public transport are de-energized. In Odesa region, 760 “Points of Invincibility” were deployed.

On the night of December 14, Russians once again attacked Odesa region. Energy, transport, industrial, and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.

At the same time, Russians began increasing attacks on ports and vessels. During the day on December 12, they attacked Odesa and the region with strike drones and ballistic missiles — a civilian vessel under a foreign flag in the port of “Chornomorsk” was damaged. It became known that the vessel belongs to a Turkish company. One person was injured. After the consequences of the shelling were eliminated, Russians delivered a repeated strike, damaging State Emergency Service equipment.

On December 13, Russia deliberately attacked with a drone a civilian vessel of a Turkish company that was delivering Ukrainian sunflower oil to Egypt, reports “Ekonomichna Pravda”. Russians carried out the strike outside the area of operation of Ukraine’s Air Force. The crew was not injured.
