On the night of September 4, 2024, Russian forces attacked Lviv with drones and missiles. Children were among the victims. The Russians struck Lviv’s historic area. Two districts came under attack—Frankivskyi and Zaliznychnyi. The death toll from the enemy strike on Lviv has risen to seven. A family was killed in their own home: a woman and her three daughters. The only survivor of the family was the father, Yaroslav. His wife Yevheniia and their three daughters—Yaryna, Daryna, and Emilia—were killed in their own home.

“In the center of Europe, Russia is exterminating Ukrainians—entire families. Russians are killing our children, our future. I don’t know what words could support Yaroslav as a father. Today, we are all with you. Sincere condolences and eternal memory,” — wrote Mayor Andriy Sadovyi.

Head of the Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi said that 47 people injured in the enemy’s overnight attack are being treated in three medical facilities in Lviv.

“Among the patients are seven children; all have injuries of moderate severity. Among adults, at least 7 are in critical condition. Doctors are fighting for their lives. Patient information is being updated continuously,” he added. As the head of the Regional Military Administration noted, search-and-rescue operations at the impact sites in Lviv are ongoing. “There may still be people under the rubble,” Kozytskyi stated.
