Anniversary of the Olenivka terrorist attack
The tragedy in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 29: an explosion rang out in the barrack of Correctional Colony No. 120. The day before, Ukrainian prisoners of war, including defenders of Azovstal, had been deliberately moved there. Ukraine recognized this attack as a terrorist act. As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in the summer of 2024, investigative actions were still ongoing without charges being filed. This war crime claimed the lives of more than 50 people, and over 140 were injured.

Civil protests under the flags of Ukraine and the EU turned into a struggle for democracy and the right to choose, with Molotov cocktails and paving stones in their hands. The fallen protesters of the Heavenly Hundred became the first victims of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Ten years have passed since then, and Ukraine continues to pay a high price for European values.
