Anniversary of the Olenivka terrorist attack
The tragedy in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 29: an explosion rang out in the barrack of Correctional Colony No. 120. The day before, Ukrainian prisoners of war, including defenders of Azovstal, had been deliberately moved there. Ukraine recognized this attack as a terrorist act. As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in the summer of 2024, investigative actions were still ongoing without charges being filed. This war crime claimed the lives of more than 50 people, and over 140 were injured.

Project “Maria” (Project MARIA) by the Canadian artist of Ukrainian origin Lesya Marushchak became the most famous exhibition about the Holodomor of 1932—1933, according to the recognition of the National Museum of Holodomor-Genocide in Kyiv. This artistic work has been visited in nine countries of the world, and the book created on the basis of the project has won international awards. The exhibition provides an opportunity to look at the memory of the Holodomor through art that makes a complex subject accessible and understandable on many levels.

November 22, 2004 — the twentieth anniversary of the Orange Revolution, which began as a protest against the falsification of the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2004. The event received its name from the color used by the supporters of presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko and the opposition party "Our Ukraine". In contrast, the supporters of Viktor Yanukovych were associated with the white-and-blue colors of their symbols.
