Anniversary of the Olenivka terrorist attack
The tragedy in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 29: an explosion rang out in the barrack of Correctional Colony No. 120. The day before, Ukrainian prisoners of war, including defenders of Azovstal, had been deliberately moved there. Ukraine recognized this attack as a terrorist act. As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in the summer of 2024, investigative actions were still ongoing without charges being filed. This war crime claimed the lives of more than 50 people, and over 140 were injured.

Ukrainian Armed Forces left Avdiivka. The city on the eve of the withdrawal of troops — in the photos of Ukrainian documentarians
On the night of Saturday, February 17, the Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew from Avdiyivka to avoid the encirclement. The small industrial city is located 13 km from Donetsk. For almost 10 years, the Russians tried to occupy Avdiyivka, and after more than 3,100 days of defense, the city fell. The defense forces moved to more favorable frontiers.

“Armed Truth — 10 Years of the Revolution of Dignity and Euromaidan in Ukraine” is an exhibition project by the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP), created as a visual testimony to the events that shaped modern Ukraine. It brings together photographs taken by Ukrainian documentarians Mstyslav Chernov and Viacheslav Ratynskyi during the Revolution of Dignity and throughout the key historical moments of the past decade — from the birth of a new civic movement to the experience of war that defines the present.

On the evening of February 9, Russian strike drones attacked Kharkiv from the Belgorod region. Several of them hit oil tanks at a fuel depot in the Nemyshlyanskyi district. Fuel leaked, mixed with snow, and spread across the street, causing a large fire. Throughout the night and the following day, rescue workers fought the fire and searched for victims.
