Anniversary of the Olenivka terrorist attack
The tragedy in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 29: an explosion rang out in the barrack of Correctional Colony No. 120. The day before, Ukrainian prisoners of war, including defenders of Azovstal, had been deliberately moved there. Ukraine recognized this attack as a terrorist act. As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in the summer of 2024, investigative actions were still ongoing without charges being filed. This war crime claimed the lives of more than 50 people, and over 140 were injured.

In January 2015, a modular town for migrants from eastern Ukraine and Crimea was built on the outskirts of Kharkiv, near the airport. It was planned that small housing containers would become temporary shelters for internally displaced families. However, very soon, the fenced settlement turned into a ghetto and became a problem for the municipal authorities.

In 2024, the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast was considered a relatively safe rear area, a place where displaced people from frontline settlements arrived. The city had functioning utilities, shops, and banks, and residents felt comparatively secure. However, over the past six months, the situation has changed dramatically.

At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he filmed the situation in his native Kharkiv and traveled with volunteers to the front line.
