Anniversary of the Olenivka terrorist attack
The tragedy in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 29: an explosion rang out in the barrack of Correctional Colony No. 120. The day before, Ukrainian prisoners of war, including defenders of Azovstal, had been deliberately moved there. Ukraine recognized this attack as a terrorist act. As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in the summer of 2024, investigative actions were still ongoing without charges being filed. This war crime claimed the lives of more than 50 people, and over 140 were injured.

This year, on 20 November 2025 — World Children’s Day — Ukraine was in mourning for those killed in Ternopil. The Russian military launched nearly fifty missiles, along with drones, toward the western regions of Ukraine, striking residential buildings in the rear city of Ternopil. In total, seven children were killed over the week: six in Ternopil and one girl in the Kharkiv region. Nearly 30 more children were injured, and one child is missing. The consequences of Russia’s attacks this week are documented in reports from Dnipro, Lviv, Ternopil, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa.

The MYPH School of Conceptual and Art Photography is launching a bilingual periodical titled “525”. The magazine is dedicated to contemporary Ukrainian photography and its place within the broader context of global visual culture. The first issue will be published already this November. Above all, “525” aims to become a platform for young Ukrainian photographers, while also engaging international authors in dialogue to strengthen the presence of Ukrainian photography on the global market.
