Anniversary of the Olenivka terrorist attack
The tragedy in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 29: an explosion rang out in the barrack of Correctional Colony No. 120. The day before, Ukrainian prisoners of war, including defenders of Azovstal, had been deliberately moved there. Ukraine recognized this attack as a terrorist act. As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in the summer of 2024, investigative actions were still ongoing without charges being filed. This war crime claimed the lives of more than 50 people, and over 140 were injured.

Throughout the autumn, Russia has launched massive attacks on Ukraine almost every week — and this week was no exception. The most destructive and deadly strikes targeted Kharkiv and Kyiv. According to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, the intensified shelling by Russian forces has led to a sharp rise in civilian deaths. In Kyiv, the number of civilian casualties in the first ten months of 2025 is nearly four times higher than during the same period last year. A similar situation is unfolding in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
