Anniversary of the Olenivka terrorist attack
The tragedy in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 29: an explosion rang out in the barrack of Correctional Colony No. 120. The day before, Ukrainian prisoners of war, including defenders of Azovstal, had been deliberately moved there. Ukraine recognized this attack as a terrorist act. As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in the summer of 2024, investigative actions were still ongoing without charges being filed. This war crime claimed the lives of more than 50 people, and over 140 were injured.

Yevhen Borisovsky, a new member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, combines two hypostases: soldier and photographer. Appointed to the post of chief of the communications department of the 148th Separate Artillery Zhytomyr Brigade, he never planned to choose a career as a soldier or a photographer, however, life and war ordered differently.

Photo with history: Then dogs conquer the town, and each subsequent one looks at it as if it were water.
The prudent fear of obvious metaphors always tries to stop the author, but how difficult it is to avoid them when it comes to a town called Chasiv Yar. How to avoid the metaphor of a city devastated by war, which now belongs to a certain extent to dogs and memories, to lone survivors with weapons (because they have to somehow fight off those dogs), and most importantly - to the military, who have to defend the town from the Russians, whatever the ravine or the abyss of the sullen time but his memory was not engulfed by the fighting.

With the start of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ military operation in Russia’s Kursk region, pro‑Kremlin Telegram channels and media began actively spreading narratives about “foreign mercenaries” allegedly fighting there.
