The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, together with legal experts from the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UAPI/IP Office), has initiated the development of a suite of standard contract templates for photographers to use in their daily work. This package of documents will include licensing agreements, agreements on the assignment of economic rights, as well as agreements on the payment of royalties and author's remuneration. It is essential to adapt these templates to various fields of photography, as each niche has its own unique needs and operational specifics that must be addressed from a legal perspective. In addition, practical guidelines are planned to assist photographers in navigating any potential copyright disputes or challenges.

Daily terror against civilians: consequences of strikes on Kyiv, Boryspil, Odesa, and Kramatorsk
The beginning of the school year in Ukraine turned into a week of exhausting and brutal attacks. The most massive shelling targeted the Kyiv region, Odesa region, and frontline communities of Donetsk. This week among the affected sites in the capital: a railway depot, a higher education institution, and the Security Service of Ukraine building; UNESCO World Heritage sites also suffered damage. During the strikes, specialists from emergency and municipal services, as well as workers from the metallurgical sector, were killed: a State Emergency Service rescuer, two police officers, a utility worker, six railway workers, and five metallurgists. Units of the State Emergency Service and Air Defense Forces worked continuously under heavy smoke and constant risk of repeated strikes.

“Light and death walk side by side.” Serhii Korovainyi’s photographs from the “City of Good”
“City of Good” is a nationwide project launched by philanthropist Marta Levchenko in 2016. Today, it is a large‑scale space that provides comprehensive support for women and children who find themselves in difficult life circumstances — for example, survivors of domestic violence, those at risk of homelessness, those who need help with socialization and reintegration, or families living below the poverty line. Since the beginning of Russia’s full‑scale invasion, the center has also been helping children who were forced to evacuate because of the war.

In early August, Russian airstrikes damaged the Ostriv Bridge — the only road bridge connecting the Korabel district, also known as Ostriv, with the mainland part of Kherson. Vladyslav Krasnoshchok was born and lives in Kharkiv. Between 1997 and 2002, he studied at the Faculty of Dentistry and worked for more than ten years in an emergency hospital. Yet it was photography that became his way of seeing the world and speaking about it. Since 2010, he has been a member of the art group “Shylo,” known for its radical visual gestures. Krasnoshchok expands the tradition of Kharkiv photography, working with archives, hand‑coloring, collage, and sculptural objects. From the first days of Russia’s full‑scale invasion of Ukraine, he has been documenting the war, capturing its events on black‑and‑white film.

Today, he is the author of frontline portraits, albums about wartime volunteers, and a series on Kyiv region after occupation, as well as a new member of the UAPP. In his work, documentary precision is intertwined with an author’s philosophy, and war appears not only as a tragedy but also as a space for searching for meaning and beauty.

The first week of September brought a new ordeal for Ukraine. In the early hours of Sunday, 7 September, at dawn, Russia carried out its most powerful combined strike in recent months against Ukrainian cities. The enemy launched hundreds of attack drones and ground‑launched missiles, directing them at residential neighborhoods, government buildings, and civilian infrastructure. According to the Air Force, a total of 823 aerial weapons were fired at Ukraine: 810 attack UAVs and 13 missiles. Despite the work of air defense, 9 missile impacts and 54 drone impacts were recorded. Damage of varying scale was reported at more than thirty locations, including in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
